Sustainable hospitality: an innovative concept for the Castello di Verduno hotel

The "Castello di Verduno" winery is owned by Gabriella Burlotto and Franco Bianco. Founded in 1950 by Commendatore Giovanni Battista Burlotto after his return from Eritrea, the winery is now run with passion by the Commendatore's three daughters and their families.

Verduno Castle offers a hotel, a high-class restaurant, a wine cellar and an agritourism, all in a prestigious setting.

The design challenge envisioned by the Upskill 4.0 team with the company develop an innovative concept for an environmentally and energy-conscious hospitality facility through the identification of a new mode of hospitality.

Great attention will be paid to the research of materials to be used and the creation of services to be offered to end customers. The goal is to create a reference model for sustainable tourism in the Barolo wine production area in Verduno.

The project is part of the second edition of Upskill Piemonte, an initiative promoted by Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT, Upskill 4.0 and UniCredit, to reduce the youth-enterprise skill mismatch.
