IN.CO.M: know-how and technology in high-tech ironworking

IN.CO.M. Ltd. is a company that processes iron, stainless steel and aluminum "to order." It has been in the engineering industry for 60 years and is able to customize to detail the production of semi-finished products, profile structures and machines or parts of machines complete with assembly and testing. Managed according to Lean principles, the company innovatively places people first and technology second.

Over the years, In.Co.M. has been able to innovate its production processes by investing in 4.0, going so far as to create a vertical warehouse.

The design challenge conceived by the Upskill 4.0 team in collaboration with Matteo Campolucci, managing director of IN.CO.M. srl, is to help the company tell the story of the process of automation and investment in 4.0 technologies as a competitive value for its current and potential customers.

The goal of the project is to identify the right communication formats, digital or physical, that can testify to how the combination of the human and technological components constitute the real competitive value of the company.

Instead, for IN.CO.M,ITS Business Services students designed a communication strategy that is very consistent with the three aspects that most characterize the company: implementation 4.0, Lean strategy and great customization capacity, where the human and technological components are the real competitive value of the company.

"I can only give kudos to these guys, they are really competent, it's not taken for granted," said Matteo Campolucci. "Finding this kind of efficiency and effectiveness, it's not easy. Our problem was just communicating what we do: thanks to the project, we will make progress.

This project is part of the "Upskill" project of Fondazione Cariverona and Upskill 4.0, with UniCredit as a partner. The main objective of the initiative is to develop innovation projects by enhancing territories and businesses in the provinces of Verona, Vicenza, Mantua, Ancona and Belluno through the involvement of young ITS students.
