Plastoptic is a company founded in 1987 in Cadore, Italy, specializing in injection molding of plastic components, particularly in the eyewear industry. In recent years, the company has also incorporated CAD design and 3D modeling to produce physical prototypes using 3D printing in plastic or resin materials. The company serves customers both domestically and internationally.
The design challenge envisioned by the Upskill 4.0 team is tohelp Plastoptic help Plastoptic find new innovative ways to communicate the company's offerings and values in order to reach an ever-widening audience and raise awareness of the benefits of 3D printing . Inparallel ,envisage the study of a new collection of modular eyewear to diversify the company's offerings while remaining faithful to the principles and processes of sustainability, seeking to reach an increasingly large user base.
The project solution devised by ITS Servizi alle Imprese students with Tiziana Obici, project manager of Upskill 4.0, is The Thread of Aterema: the creation of a new pair of glasses, a new social and web strategy and a route, Aterema on tour, with a van among the best mountain huts in the Dolomites where potential customers can try on the glasses.
This project is part of the "Upskill" project by Fondazione Cariverona and Upskill 4.0, with UniCredit as a partner. The main objective of the initiative is to develop innovation projects by enhancing territories and businesses in the provinces of Verona, Vicenza, Mantua, Ancona and Belluno through the involvement of young ITS students.
