A new augmented reality catalog for ceramics

Learn how the new augmented reality catalog was created for Botteganove, a cult company in the world of ceramics

When students fromITS Last in Verona visited Botteganove for the first time, CEO Christian Pegoraro asked them to convey the company's savoir-faire through digital Botteganove produces handcrafted ceramics. Beautiful ceramics that add to the tradition of the Nove district a highly effective contemporary design. Imagining a visual narrative of the spaces where these ceramics take shape seemed like common sense.

The working group coordinated by Upskill 4.0 made different decisions. After discussions with various stakeholders (the empathy phase of Design Thinking), the students realized that it would be more useful for the company to develop a 3D product catalog.

The goal has changed: to help retailers of Botteganove products present product features in a very effective way while at the same time reducing printing and process management costs.

The augmented reality catalog took shape in just a few months. Through a QR code paired with a physical sample of the product, the end customer can view the available variants on his or her cell phone, consider all the available colors, study the technical features, and understand how the product was made. Not only that. A feature of the app allows the end customer to visualize, through augmented reality, how a given ceramic might look on their home wall.
