The second edition of Upskill Ancona has begun! Last November 7 was the kick-off with the four companies participating in the project also promoted by Fondazione Cariverona with Upskill 4.0.
The goal of the project is to combine 4.0 technologies and craftsmanship know-how, thus contributing to the competitiveness of businesses in the province of Ancona.
We will work with these new four companies from November to February 2025, again with the help of young ITS talent and students from the Venice School of Management at Ca' Foscari University Venice.
At Upskill 4.0, we believe that reconnecting the energy of young people with the know-how of established generations is a formidable lever for the country's growth.
Through our operational and scientific coordination throughout the project, the goal of the project is to support the revitalization and sustainability of economic and social initiatives through an intergenerational dialogue between different skills and talents, to explore possible solutions starting from the real challenges of the businesses involved.

We present the companies featured in Upskill Ancona and the challenges they set for students.
Zucchero a Velò is the first prime-bike café in Ancona. Established about 10 years ago, this reality operates in the neighborhood and in the city as an innovative entity for the promotion of vegan and vegetarian food and the concept of sustainable mobility, within a broader concept of urban regeneration.
The design challenge devised with the Upskill 4.0 team will be to develop a proposal for events and initiatives in collaboration with other neighborhood entities to engage the community and regenerate the urban fabric of the Piano San Lazzaro neighborhood.
The goal is to increase the involvement of citizens and businesses in the neighborhood through a calendar of events that promote Sugar A Velò's values of inclusion, sustainability and slow living.

Fogola is the longest-running independent bookstore in Ancona: established as a city meeting point for readers and intellectuals, it has maintained its characteristics over the years as a bookstore as a cultural space dedicated not only to reading, but to knowledge in a broader sense. Simona Rossi, the owner is very active and organizes numerous reading groups to keep the bookstore community alive.
The design challenge devised with the Upskill 4.0 team is to develop an online and offline communication strategy that includes content and experiences that emphasize the uniqueness of the bookstore and enhance the community of loyal readers. The goal of the challenge is to increase engagement with current and potential customers.

Cartiera Manualis is a startup founded in 2018, specializing in the artisanal production of 100% cotton or hemp handmade paper and specialty papers made from waste materials from the textile industry.
The project challenge is to develop a study of the Manualis brand and design a marketing plan to enhance current know-how and collaborations. The goal is to strengthen Manualis' reputation to attract new collaborations and establish itself as a strategic partner for companies seeking innovative and high-value circular economy projects.

La Cantinella is a celebrated restaurant and hotel in Ostra that stands out for its attention to the quality of the products offered and the professionalism in organizing ceremonies and events. Recently, La Cantinella has developed a software to manage the large number of place settings and digitize the booking process.
The challenge consists of a first part devoted to the study of the software developed by Cantinella, to identify its strengths and research potential additional features to be integrated. The second part of the challenge focuses on defining a strategy for communication aimed at building customer loyalty and marketing the software to the market.
