Upskill Perugia: let's get to know the companies!

Six companies from the province of Perugia are participating in the second edition of Upskill Perugia.ITS Umbria Academy students are involved in six challenges that touch on the themes of digitization, product and process design, business process transformation, marketing and communication. They started already in December with the first stages of Design Thinking, that of empathy and definition. These days include company visits, a moment in all projects, which is extremely important.

Marco Raspati, CEO of Nexo Corporation, a company that offers language and business services, gave students a real lesson in entrepreneurship. AI is a revolution for the translation world, a new industrial revolution that changes the work of the translator, who becomes more of a super controller. With Gizem Al project manager of Upskill 4.0, students will have to explore new artificial intelligence tools and integrate them to the translation industry.

The students with Olga Popa, Upskill 4.0 project manager, visited the warehouses of Calzetti & Mariucci Editori, a Perugia-based publishing house specializing in books, videos and magazines for physical activity and sports, located under Perugia's Libreria Grande, a landmark for the city. Publishing is a field in perpetual change, especially for specialized publishing. The goal of the challenge is to develop an effective communication strategy for Calzetti & Mariucci, focusing on Instagram and TikTok channels by devising engaging and innovative content to reach sports professionals (coaches, personal trainers, athletes, etc.).

With Claudio Floritelli and Francesca Gasparrini of Floritelli Cucine, the students accompanied by Elena Masi, project manager of Upskill 4.0, were able to see with their own eyes the extreme customization of the products made by this company, custom kitchens especially for the foreign market: Mexico, the United States, China, South Africa. The challenge here is to help them create new formats to reach Italian and international B2B customers, exploiting the potential of new technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality.

With Alessandro Persichetti and Giancarlo Pers ichetti of Persichetti Stampi, the students had a lesson in Industry 4.0, starting with the basics, milling cutter and lathe, fundamental tools in manufacturing and metalworking, now controlled by CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems, which allow high precision and repeatability in production processes. Here the challenge for students with the help of Olga Popa, Upskill 4.0 project manager, will be to identify the right communication channels and formats to promote a new product made from an innovative material.

Evolving tastes in wines was the focus of a chat with Mattia Casini and Luca Mosconi of Tenute Baldo Agricola. Dishes are becoming lighter and lighter, and the winery is looking for wines with a full-bodiedness in line with today's diet. The challenge the students will have to face, again with the support of Elena Masi, is to develop a communication strategy to expand B2B customers, focusing on restaurateurs.

From Italiani srl with Gizem Al, students spoke with Matteo Pigliautile and Eugenia Buffetti. The company offers products and services for the white art. It specializes in the marketing of raw materials, equipment and services for pastry, bakery, ice cream and pizzerias. The challenge is to think of a new point of sale to offer a unique experience to Italiani S.r.l's B2C customers, promoting a new brand identity through the implementation of innovative formats. For Matteo and Eugenia, it was very important to talk to the students because it is through them that they can understand what inclinations the under-25s have for the art of baking.
