Piedmont Upskill: third edition kicks off

Following the success of the second edition, Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT with Upskill 4.0 and UniCredit are launching a new challenge to support businesses in the Turin Unique Trade District in innovation processes through the involvement of ITS students.

Reduce the skill mismatch young companies by activating strategic, organizational and digital acceleration pathways for companies, with the involvement of ITS students.

This is the goal of the third edition of the "Upskill Piemonte" project, promoted by the Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT in collaboration with Upskill 4.0, a spin-off of Ca' Foscari University Venice, and UniCredit.

The third edition of Upskill Piemonte introduces an innovative element: an activity to support the local area and businesses to implement prototypes, generating tangible value for the community.

The goal of this edition is to foster pathways to improve the quality of life for residents, increase tourist attractiveness and support the innovation needed by business activities to cope with a changing market.

Upskill Piedmont will propose to the commerce enterprises of the Urban District of Commerce of the City of Turin, in collaboration with Ascom Torino, six innovation paths that leverage the methodologies adopted by Upskill 4.0 and the specialized skills of the Istituti Tecnici Superiori (ITS Academy), in order to provide performing tools for activities and useful for a better use of services by citizens.

At the same time, the project will allow students practical, hands-on experience that will foster the acquisition of those technical and professional skills that are increasingly in demand by companies.

The project pays special attention to enhancing neighborhood commerce, which is a pillar of the local economy, contributing to job creation, supporting microenterprises and promoting the circular economy. These activities also promote social cohesion and improve the quality of life in urban neighborhoods.

With the support of the Upskill 4.0 team of professionals and researchers, who specialize in digital innovation and in the design and development of interventions for the regeneration of supply chains and territories, the selected companies and young technicians from the ITS Academies will be able to experiment together with the implementation of new innovative products, processes or business models.

From February to June 2025, selected companies will develop a prototype to meet the design challenges. Following the presentation of the prototypes, a collaboration with ITS will be activated, through the identification of students who participated in the third edition of Upskill Piemonte, to implement the innovative solution.
