Advanced training and business acceleration for 5 fashion, design, and accessories SMEs based in Lombardy

Artigiani 4.0 is a regional program that combines advanced training and business acceleration to boost the competitiveness of fashion and design SMEs in Lombardy. Now in its second year, the program enables companies to work with mentors and specialists from Upskill 4.0 on skills development, business-ready prototypes, go-to-market strategies, and digital operations. The program guides companies from defining their needs to market testing, promoting the Lombardy Style identity and fostering relationships with other premium companies.

Artigiani 4.0 combines assessment, targeted training, and an acceleration program that connects businesses with local partners to promote digital and strategic innovation.

Artigiani 4.0 supports business competitiveness through training and acceleration

Lombardy is the national center of fashion and design: an ecosystem with over 8,000 design companies, 11 billion in added value, and about 30% of Italian exports in the sector. In a context of volatile demand and pressure on margins, competitiveness depends on speed of execution and data-driven decisions. Artigiani 4.0 responds with an essential sequence that combines diagnosis, targeted training, and an acceleration path that connects supply chains, districts, and local partners. The project promotes local innovation: it connects companies, associations, and local stakeholders, strengthens international positioning in line with Lombardia Style, and involves leading companies worldwide as a reference and benchmark for standards, processes, and the market.

The project guides each company towards a prototype or proof of concept tested with customers, a business plan with conversion and margin metrics, defined channel priorities and sustainable pricing, as well as a roadmap of the necessary investments and organizational assets. At the same time, it activates connections between local players to consolidate supply chains, attract opportunities and strengthen the reputation of the Lombardy system.

From training to execution, building a community of businesses

The process begins with selection and diagnosis to map products, channels, operations, and KPIs, then continues with executive training modules on strategy, premium brands, and digital, based on immediately applicable tools. It then enters the operational acceleration phase, in which prototypes are developed, hypotheses are validated with customers, and a 90-day plan is defined together with materials for partners and stakeholders. In addition to advanced training and project development to increase the competitiveness of each individual company, Artigiani 4.0 builds a community of companies capable of innovating and bringing Made in Lombardy to the most competitive markets, activating connections between supply chains, local networks, and leading companies around the world. The entire system is a territorial innovation project: it strengthens collaborations, shares standards and processes, enhances the Lombardy Style identity, and increases the international attractiveness of the system.

Artisans 4.0: Who Is Participating in the Acceleration Program?

The featured participants in the second edition of Artigiani 4.0 are six companies specializing in fine craftsmanship and design, including Anna Monti, Siniscalchi, Collanine Colorate, Pinetti, and Falpe.

Anna Monti is a Made in Italy artisan embroidery workshop founded in 1921 in Meda by Regina Lavezzi.
The business focuses on both commissioned work for architects, artists, and designers, and its own line of linens and home accessories.
Each project begins with a dialogue with the client, featuring a bespoke and personalized approach. The creations are used in fashion, accessories, textile furnishings, and interior decoration. The workshop collaborates with high-end brands such as Giorgetti, Minotti, Dior, Bulgari, Moooi, and Schumacher Italia.

Collanine Colorate is an Italian artisan brand founded in 2020 by architect Lorenzo Franchini and designer Giacomo Giovagnoli. Following the success on Instagram of a choker featuring colorful beads, the brand has expanded to offer jewelry made from natural materials (semi-precious stones, pearls, shells, and glass). Based in Milan and producing in collaboration with a social cooperative, in 2024 it opened its first physical store, Casa Collanine, while continuing online sales and collaborations with brands such as Coccinelle, Adidas, and Cosmopolitan.

Falpe is a family-owned business that has been manufacturing and installing roller shutters, doors, windows, and home automation solutions for over fifty years. It has built an identity that combines innovation, aesthetics, sustainability, and a commitment to listening, translating these elements into distinctive experiences such as Casa Falpe, a consulting approach that guides people through the design and selection of products for their homes. In 2014, Falpe revitalized and transformed its production complex in Erba into Opificio Zappa, an ecosystem dedicated to work, art, innovation, and craftsmanship, and part of M.A.F.O., a corporate museum dedicated to Falpe’s craftsmanship.

Pinetti was founded in 1983 and today designs and manufactures exclusive collections of leather and woven accessories for the home, office, bathroom, and outdoor spaces. Specializing in custom-made products for the high-end contract sector (5-star hotels, yachts, private jets, and Michelin-starred restaurants), the company combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative manufacturing processes.

Siniscalchi is a historic Milanese shirtmaker founded in 1948 by Vittorio Siniscalchi. The company specializes in bespoke shirts for the ultra-luxury market, with each garment crafted entirely by hand using a personalized tailoring process. With a large international clientele, the company is now led by Alessandro Siniscalchi, who has held the title of Master of Arts since 1982.
