Nitro Coffee: learn about the health properties and sustainability benefits

Esperya S.r.l. is an Ancona-based company that has been active for about three years in the specialty coffee and coffee equipment business.

Antonio Tombolini, founder of one of the first online gourmet stores, brings to market cold brew coffee, a beverage made from a slow, gentle infusion of the finest coffee beans in water.

The design challenge conceived by the Upskill 4.0 team in collaboration with Antonio Tombolini of Esperya - The Smoking Tiger is to help end consumers learn about the health properties and sustainability benefits of consuming Nitro Coffee, especially in terms of supply chain traceability.

For The Smoking Tiger, students fromITS Agribusiness in Rome designed "Antonio's Journey," a travelogue across five continents to discover countries and highlight communities that grow different types of coffee, a series of events and new Eco-Gadgets.

"Coffee is a product that everyone thinks they know, but no one really knows, from the supply chain to the taste, it is a huge market, second only to oil. With the students the attunement was immediate, they expected no less from me, there were already very good premises! The challenge was already won, now it's up to us to implement what they proposed. For me this was a very good experience!" said Antonio Tombolini after listening to the final presentation of the project. 

This project is part of the "Upskill" project of Fondazione Cariverona and Upskill 4.0, with UniCredit as a partner. The main objective of the initiative is to develop innovation projects by enhancing territories and businesses in the provinces of Verona, Vicenza, Mantua, Ancona and Belluno through the involvement of young ITS students.
