On Friday 15 March, ADI , the Association for Industrial Design, hosted a meeting at theADI Design Museum to discuss the educational offer in the field of design.
The meeting was part of a series of round tables organised by the General Department and the Distribution and Services Department of ADI, which selected seven of the most topical design issues and invited designers, researchers and entrepreneurs to talk about them with their direct experience.
Two cycles of meetings are planned: SISTEMA, dedicated by the General Department to "design around design", i.e. the basic themes that do not coincide with actual design but give it substance (training, intellectual property, communication). The Distribution and Services Department, on the other hand, is promoting four meetings dedicated to service design, presenting four case studies, the initials of which give rise to the title of the cycle: M.O.D.I.
Prof. Carlo Martino of Rome's Sapienza University brought together public and private universities, ISIAs and Academies, and invited Stefano Micelli, president of Upskill 4.0, for the ITS world.
Prof. Stefano Micelli proposed the results of five years of ITS 4.0 project activities and presented the activities of Upskill 4.0. Unlike other successful initiatives in our country, ITS does not aim to train designers.
For ITS, Design Thinking is a tool for qualifying different professions across the board, from maintenance workers to prototypists, from software developers to production managers. In short, design as a working method contributes to qualifying a broad spectrum of activities that benefit from a way of thinking and tools capable of supporting innovation and collaboration.
The main objective is to strengthen the professionalism of those who graduate from ITS and to promote the confidence of many students in their ability to take action in the world.
