How to improve organizational efficiency in haute couture
The prestigious Milanese shirtmaker Siniscalchi stands out for its limited and exclusive production, with manufacturing processes tailored to different types of fabric. This approach reflects the company’s constant pursuit of the highest quality and the authentic value of handcrafted work. Today, the company’s challenge is to optimize internal processes with the support of technology, so as to continue focusing its added value on artisanal excellence.
In the world of custom-made shirts, in fact, the production process does not end with acquiring the customer, taking measurements, or issuing an invoice. Each garment has specific characteristics and requires precise information management. Added to this is the complexity of the fabric warehouse, which represents a central infrastructure of the business and must be faithfully translated into a digital ecosystem.
Physical storage is divided between the atelier and the underground warehouse, distributed among cabinets, shelves, and roll holders. Making this system more transparent, traceable, and accessible means improving operational management without altering the sartorial nature of the work.

“Inside the Atelier” with the Artigiani 4.0 project
To address this organizational and digital challenge, the company joined the second edition of Artigiani 4.0, a program promoted by the Lombardy Region to support the digital transition of fashion and design SMEs. The project developed for Maison Siniscalchi focuses on creating a custom management application designed to map processes, streamline workflows, and establish a quick and direct link to the warehouse.
The platform stems from the mapping of garment production processes and enables the creation of a coherent digital relationship between the main assets and the users involved: customers, fabrics, the warehouse, and employees. It is therefore not merely management software, but a tool designed around the actual operations of the atelier.
The future of craftsmanship between tradition and technology
Integrating technology into traditional crafts does not mean undermining a company’s artisanal identity. On the contrary, it means strengthening it. In the case of Maison Siniscalchi, the digitization of processes delivers tangible benefits in terms of efficiency, precision, and time savings in back-office operations and inventory management, while keeping manual craftsmanship at the heart of the value proposition.

Digitizing an artisanal production process means making information accessible quickly and accurately, without interfering with the manual nature of daily work. For this reason, the application has been equipped with an internal search engine and a quick scanning function via QR code. The use of smart tools and accessories, such as the labelers tested during the project, allows staff to immediately retrieve data related to delivery notes, fabric sheets, and their exact location within the warehouse.
The value of this solution lies in its alignment with the atelier’s operational reality. The user experience and system functionalities are designed to respect and support the physical and organizational logic of tailoring, putting the precision of technology at the service of artisanal excellence.
This solution demonstrates how technological innovation can enhance the legacy of Italian craftsmanship. By reducing logistical and operational inefficiencies, Maison Siniscalchi can focus its energy on what truly matters: the quality of bespoke tailoring, customer care, and the continuity of a sartorial tradition that looks to the future.
