A project for the local area
Verona is synonymous with quality manufacturing and export, but its appeal to younger generations needs to be strengthened. Upskill Verona brings these two plans together. It starts by listening to the local community, translating priorities into project challenges, and working with mixed ITS and university teams on rapid research, concepts, prototyping, and testing with real users. Companies come away with operational materials and a measurable adoption plan. The value is territorial: companies that are quicker to experiment, young skills that are activated in the field, institutions that see useful solutions for key supply chains emerge. Public presentations highlight the potential of Made in Verona and help to showcase a city and province where tradition and innovation meet, from the Arena to the districts, with projects that create concrete opportunities for students and investors.
Young people at the center
The goal is to increase the competitiveness of businesses through concrete prototypes, user validation, and adoption plans, while at the same time activating an intergenerational community of businesses, students, and teachers. The method reduces the gap between business needs and training, shortens the time between idea and market, and strengthens the attractiveness of the territory for talent and skills.
Verona: manufacturing excellence, attractiveness to be strengthened
The city of the Arena coexists with a province rich in expertise in the mechanical, agri-food, fashion, and wood furniture sectors. Global competitive pressure and demographic trends call for faster innovation processes and a narrative capable of showing young people paths to growth. Fondazione Cariverona's perspective is clear: listen to the territory and the new generations, create new connections, and support projects that leave measurable traces for businesses and communities. Upskill Verona is the operational tool for this vision, active since 2021.
From listening to prototyping, with young people taking the lead
Each cycle begins with listening and mapping needs. Companies define a challenge related to a product, service, or process; ITS and university teams, led by Upskill 4.0, develop research, concepts, prototypes, and tests up to the adoption plan. Among the Veronese companies involved are Progetto Quid, Officina Dario Pegoretti, Pasticceria Cassandrini, Lorenzo Borsarini, Camplin, and Il Ponte Cooperativa Sociale, companies that combine solid roots and an international vision and contribute to a local community that innovates together.
